CleanAIR® – powered filtration systems for protection of a respiratory tract.
1. Introduction
CleanAIR® is a personal respiratory tract protection system based on overpressure of filtered air in the
respiration zone. The powered air purifying respirator unit transports the air from the surrounding envi-
ronment through the filter and then supply the protection hood or mask. Resulting overpressure prevents
contamination from passing into the respiration zone. At the same time the light overpressure ensures
high user comfort even when worn for a long time with no need to overcome inhalation resistance of the
filter.
2. Instructions for use
Read carefully and observe the instructions stated in the „User manual". The user must have perfect
knowledge of how to use the protective equipment correctly.
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used when the unit is switched off!
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used when the unit is bringing insufficient amount of air.
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used in areas where oxygen concentration is below 17 %.
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used in areas where the user has no knowledge of the nature of con-
tamination or its concentration.
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used in areas where there is risk of explosion or fire.
CleanAIR® Asbest must not be used in confined spaces, such as closed tanks, tunnels, sewers.
Before each use of the always check with the enclosed flow indicator, whether airflow is within the
limits. (see Article 4 „Before first use" -> „Airflow test")
If, for any reason, the filtration unit stops working, the user must leave the contaminated space without
delay.
Mask must fit to face tightly to ensure perfect protection level of the wearer. If beard or long hair gets
in way along the sealing outline, this may impair the protection level provided by the system.
PAPR unit CleanAIR® Asbest filtration unit is normally supplied with particle filter P R SL and protects
the user in a particle contaminated environment.
Filters designed to capture solid and liquid particles (particle filters) do not protect the wearer against
any gases.
Filters designed to capture gases do not protect the wearer against any particles.
Always replace the filters, when you notice a change in the smell of air coming from the unit.
Only use original certified filters designed for your PAPR CleanAIR® Asbest.
NOTICE! When any of the instructions for use of the filter is broken, the warranty is invalid!

4. Before first use

Make sure that:
All components are intact, with no visible defects or damage (especially no cracks, holes or leakages).
Replace all damaged or worn parts. Attend to good condition of the hose and sealing components.
The hose is connected properly to both the PAPR unit and the head piece.
The head piece is supplied with air, when the PAPR unit has been switched on.
Air flow through the hose is sufficient.
Before the first use of a new battery* it is recommended, at least once, to discharge the battery comple-
tely and then fully recharge to restore its maximum capacity! For maximum battery life, follow the storage
instructions provided in this manual (see Article 7 „Storage")!
* (or a battery that has been stored for a longer period of time)
Air flow test
1. Disconnect the air hose from the unit.
2. Connect flow indicator to the unit.
3. Switch on the PAPR unit.
The air flow is insufficient, if the pointer's top edge enters red zone – the filter must be replaced!
Switching the unit on and off – the unit is switched off and on by changing the battery's position. The
battery can be positioned into two positions, whith one meaning ON and the other meaning OFF. To change
the battery's position release its position lock and move the battery into the required position. (see article 6
„Battery replacement")
Warning signal – the unit is equipped with a system that alerts the wearer about decreased battery voltage
5–10 minutes before the unit stops working. The warning signal combines acoustic and visual signalization
(see warning indicator). The wearer must leave the contaminated area and/or replace the battery imme-
diately upon activation of the warning signal.
