Preparing a zero oxygen solution
A zero oxygen solution is prepared by dissolving a zero oxygen tablet in 40 mL of deionized water and
stir ring for 5 minutes (see "Sensors, solutions and accessories" for the order number).

4.4 Sample measurement

Dissolved oxygen readings can be displayed as %, mg/L and ppm. To switch between units, you can
press MODE either before, during or after a measurement.

In order to get a stable value, the sample must be stirred.

Make sure that the minimum water flow rate is 5 cm/second across the membrane.
a) Place the electrode in the sample.
b) Press READ to start the measurement.
The decimal point blinks and the display shows the dissolved oxygen value of the sample. The
auto mat ic endpoint is the default setting of the meter. When the signal has stabilized, the dis-
play freezes automatically, and
c) Press and hold READ to switch between the auto and manual endpoint modes.
d) Press READ to manually endpoint a measurement.

4.5 Temperature measurement

4.5.1 Automatic temperature compensation (ATC)
For better accuracy, we recommend the use of either a built-in or a separate temperature probe. If a tem-
per a ture probe is used, ATC and the sample temperature are displayed.
Note
The meter accepts NTC 30 kΩ temperature sensors.
4.5.2 Manual temperature compensation (MTC)
If the meter does not detect a temperature probe, it automatically switches to the manual temperature
com pen sa tion mode and MTC appears.
a) To set the MTC temperature, press and hold MODE/SETUP until the Setup icon appears.
b) Press READ three times, after which ºC appears.
