1.6 General recommendations for connecting water pipes

We recommend the installation of stop valve and flexible hoses on all connection to the
unit. This will:
- eliminate vibration and sound transmissions
- eliminate installation inaccuracies
- enable shutting off all pipes at any time
- help to eliminate malfunctions with only a small effort
- ensure repair work and maintenance at any time
1.7 Connection of potable water pipe
• A filter (not scope of supply) has to be installed into the potable water pipe to protect
the solenoid valve inside the unit from dirt particles which can lead to malfunction.
• Please ensure that the potable pipe is not reduced to potable water connection in order
to enable the unit to work at 4 bar mains pressure.
• Connect the potable water pipe tightly to the potable water connection at the top side of
the unit.
• To avoid distortion of the connection to hold up at an appropriate point.
• Supplied hammer absorber is to be installed in potable water.
• In times of absence of more than 3 days we recommend to shut off
potable water supply pipe.

1.8 Connection of rainwater supply from pump

Dirt may enter the pipe of the supply pump during installation. If you cannot
exclude this, flush the pipe of the supply pump prior to connection to the unit.
• Connect the pressure pipe of the supply pump (submersible pump in the storage
tank not included in the scope of supply) tightly to the supply pump connection at the
topside of the unit.
- To avoid distortion of the connection to hold up at an appropriate point.
The Compact C supply pump should be used to ensure a trouble free operation. If
another pump is used, a submersible pump with float switch should be used. The pump
needs to have a non-return valve integrated into the flow direction. Moreover the flow rate
of the pump must cover the maximal flow rate of the Compact C unit. If that is not
ensured, warranty claims cannot be accepted.
1.9 Connection of pressure pipe
• Connect the pressure pipe tightly to the pressure connection at the rear of the unit.
