According to initial factory configuration, MAC
address is set to 126 and DIP switch is set to 0
The MAC address is the sum of the numbers set
to ON. For example, if the second (2), fifth (16),
and sixth (32) DIP switches are set to ON, the
device MAC address is 50 (2 + 16 + 32).
Only addresses from 3 to 127 are
recommended to be used.
Must be set to OFF
(position 0)

From initial default factory configuration,
the device instance number (DevID) is
configured automatically using Manufacturer
ID (Carrier BACnet manufacturer identifier)
when setting the MAC address in order to
prevent network address conflict.
The following formula is used to automatically
determine the device instance number:
DevID = ManufacturerID ×1000 + MAC
For example:
ManufacturerID: 16; MAC: 50
DevID = 16×1000 + 50 = 16050
The device instance number must be
unique over the network.
In the case of multiple MSTP segments on
the same network, the device instance
number must be set manually using a
network tool, including the subnetwork
number when setting the MAC Address to
prevent network address conflict.
It is necessary to choose a unique subnetwork
number for each MSTP segment (subnet).
This subnetwork number is set through the
BACnet MSTP adapter configuration tool.
The following formula is used to manually
determine the device instance number:
ManufacturerID x 10 000
DevID =
For example:
ManufacturerID:16
SubnetID:20
MAC:50
DevID = 16x10000 + 20x100 + 50 = 162050
The Device Instance can be changed once the
controller has been commissioned through
the network management software interface.
IMPORTANT: Once the Device Instance has
been changed manually, it will not be
anymore possible to configure it automatically
while changing the MAC address.
