YOUR COFFEE MACHINE
PROBLEM
When the "coff ee strength/
preground coff ee" knob is
turned completely to the
left or right
comes out of the machine
instead of coff ee.
Th e machine does not
switch on when the on/off
button is pressed.
Th e brewing unit cannot be
taken out for cleaning.
Ground coff ee was used
(instead of coff ee beans)
and the machine will not
dispense any coff ee.
CAUSE
Th e ground coff ee could have
got stuck in the fi lling chute.

Th e main switch on the right
side of the appliance is not
switched on or the mains plug
is not plugged in.
Th e coff ee machine is
switched on. Th e brewing
unit can only be removed
when the machine is switched
off .
Too much preground coff ee
was inserted.

8 Faults
SOLUTION
Remove the ground coff ee
with the help of a knife (see
page 16, fi g 14). Th en clean
the brewing unit and the
inside of the machine (see
6.1.2 on page 21, 22 and 23).
Check that the main switch is
in the I position and that the
power lead is plugged in the
socket properly.
Switch the appliance off and
remove the brewing unit (see
6.1.2 on page 21, fi g. 25).
IMPORTANT: Th e brewing
unit can only be taken out
when the appliance is
switched off . If you try to take
out the brewing unit whilst
the coff ee machine is switched
on, this could be seriously
damaged.
Remove the brewing unit and
carefully clean the insided
of the machine (see 6.1.1
and 6.1.2 on page 21, 22
and 23). Repeat the process
using a maximum of 2 level
measuring spoons of ground
coff ee.
