2.5 Safety instructions for the operator

This device is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience or
knowledge, unless they are monitored or have
been given detailed instructions concerning use of
the device by a person responsible for their safety.
Children must be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the device.
• If hot or cold components of the product or unit
pose a danger, it is the customer's responsibility
to guard them against being touched.
• Guards protecting against touching moving
components (such as the coupling) must not
be removed whilst the product is in operation.
• Hazardous fluids (e.g. from the shaft seals) which
have leaked (which are explosive, toxic or hot)
must be eliminated so that no danger to persons
or to the environment arises. National statutory
provisions must be respected.
• Highly flammable materials are always to be kept
at a safe distance from the product.
• Danger from electrical current must be eliminated.
Local directives or general directives (e.g. IEC,
VDE etc.) and instructions from energy supply
companies must be adhered to.
2.6 Safety instructions for installation
and maintenance work
The operator must ensure that all maintenance
and installation work is carried out by authorised
and qualified personnel, who are sufficiently
informed from their own detailed study of the
installation and operating instructions.
Work on the product or unit must only be carried
out when it is at a standstill. Compliance with the
procedures described in the installation and oper-
ating instructions for shutting down the product/
unit is mandatory.
Immediately on conclusion of the work, all
safety and protective devices must be put
back in position and recommissioned.
2.7 Unauthorised modification and manufacture
of spare parts
Unauthorised modification of components and
use of unauthorised spare parts will impair the
safety of the product/personnel, and will render
the manufacturer's declarations regarding safety
void.
Modifications to the product are only permissible
following consultation with the manufacturer.
Original spare parts and accessories authorised
by the manufacturer ensure safety.
The use of other parts absolves the manufacturing
company of any and all liability.

2.8 Improper use

The operational reliability of the supplied product
is only guaranteed if the requirements set out in
Section 4 of the installation and operating
instructions are complied with. The limit values
must on no account fall below or exceed the
values specified in the catalogue or data sheet.

3 Transport and temporary storage

The priming tank kit is delivered on a pallet.
Handling must be carried out using a lifting
device suitable for carrying the load and must
only take place when the tank is empty.
Moreover, when the tank is connected to its
piping, handling the tank or its pipe network
is not permitted in any circumstances.
When you receive the equipment, check that it
has not been damaged during transport. If you
notice a fault, take all necessary action with the
carrier.
CAUTION! Risk of damage to the installation
If the product is to be installed later on, store
it in a dry place and protect it against accidents
and any external factors (humidity, frost, etc.).
Handle the pallet carefully, and do not knock the
tank against any rigid or sharp parts.

4 Intended use

The "priming tank kit" is made up of a water
tank equipped with a set of hydraulic components
to be assembled.
This kit makes it possible to maintain the suction
of a pumping device or pressure-boosting system
in a water supply.
This kit is in no circumstances designed for storing
fluid other than water.

5 Scope of delivery (Fig. 1)

1. 500 l tank
2. 2" bushing for priming the pumps
3. ¾" bushing for draining the tank
4. 2" bushing for the tank overflow
5. Float valve
6. Floater
7. Threaded cable gland
8. Float switch
NOTICE: In Fig. 1, components such as the valves,
elbows and pipes which are not included in
the preceding list are not part of the equipment
delivered.
Refer to Fig. 2 to check all of the elements of the
kit as delivered, before assembly.

kit are provided with this kit.
