6.
Activate the sound approximately every 10 seconds. If the
glass is within range, the flashing LED will latch for
2.5 sec. At the same time the alarm relay is opened so
that the appropriate detection line on the alarm control unit
will trip.
Low-frequency response testing
Important:
This test verifies that the detector will respond to
lower frequencies. However, it is not a range check.
1.
To enter this mode while in the high-frequency test mode,
press the test button (SW2) a second time. The LEDs will
now flash alternately at a slower rate.
2.
A sharp blow of the hand or other firm object to a framed
hollow wall, ceiling or door will cause the flashing LEDs to
latch for 2.5 sec. and the alarm relay to open.
The test mode lasts 5 minutes after which the detector
automatically resets to the normal operation mode. To
manually exit the test mode, press the test button until the
LEDs stop flashing.
Functional test in normal run mode
Important:
This test is not a range check.
The detector must be in the normal run mode with the cover in
place on the detector.
Hold the GS905 tester directly against the glass surface to be
protected while aiming the loudspeaker towards the detector.
Set the tester mode selection switch to Continuous.
The tester automatically produces a loud simulated glass break
sound every 5 seconds. This should trigger an alarm.
