6.4 MOUNTING THE FAN COIL

When mounting the fan coil on the wall or ceiling, use the mounting holes already present
in the unit. These holes are located at the sides of the back panel (see Enclosure 1/A, point
17, 1/B point 14 and 1/C point 19).
The positions and distances must be respected for correct installation and working of each
model; see encl. 2 of this manual.
A minimum distance of at least 85 mm must be left between the unit and the floor (in
case of vertical installation), or between the unit and the wall (in case of horizontal installa-
tion). AF models can be directly mounted on the floor or on the wall.
Before installing the fan coil, check and mark the distance between the slots on the back-
side of the inner frame. Place some fixing screw anchors in the holes in order to support
the weight of the fan coil, in accordance with to the wall structure.
In case of horizontal installation foresee a slope of 2 cm/m to facilitate a correct
drainage of the condensate (see Fig. 5).
If the unit is not properly installed on the wall or on the ceiling, it can create a dangerous
situation, and also vibrations could make it noisy.
Special procedures for horizontal installation.
If a fan coil is installed in a room whose height exceeds 2.70 m, the performance of the unit
may be reduced due to stratification of the air.
