Possible combinations
The thigh and lower leg frame may differ by a maximum of two sizes.

3
(distal or prox. frame)
No product liability will be accepted in the event of failure to comply
with the recommended size combination instructions.
Assembly of the hinges
At each stage of the assembly, ensure that the hinge can move
smoothly. If necessary, spray the surfaces of the hinges with Teflon
spray.
Join the thigh frame (A) and lower leg frame (B) together in the
1
extended position, so that the first hinge tooth engages into the first
hinge groove on the other side. From the inside, connect this to the
preassembled inner hinge plate (J) on which the inner sliding disk
has already been mounted.
From the outside, position the outer sliding disk (K) on the hinge
2
with the notch facing the frame.
Place the outer hinge plate (M) on the outside of the outer sliding
3
disk (K) so that the label Extension is on the kneecap side and
Flexion is in the hollow of the knee.
Fasten the assembled construction elements together using the
4
two Torx 20 screws (L). Tighten the screws hand-tight (3 Nm). Now
follow the same procedure (steps 1 to 4) for the hinge on the other side.
Select the desired flexion and extension wedges from the
5
frame (H) or the individually enclosed limiting wedges (G) and
position them in the hinge (wedge with the label "E" toward
Extension and "F" toward Flexion).
Click the hinge cover (N) in its open configuration (arrow points to
6
opened lock) onto the hinge from the outside and fix it by rotating the
screw fastening through a quarter turn until it points to the symbol
with the closed lock.

Now repeat assembly steps 5 and 6 for the hinge on the other side.
Fitting the straps
Place the straps lengthwise in front of you. The order of the
7
straps (see photo) reflects their subsequent positions on the orthosis
(longest strap at the top, shortest at the bottom). Sort the cushions
for the straps in order of size too.
Turn the orthosis so that the back of it (flexion side) is facing you.
Start with the longest strap (C1). Thread this strap through the
8
uppermost frame opening (slot) on the thigh frame from the outside
to the inside and secure it in place with the Velcro.
Repeat this process for the next three straps in turn, threading
9
them into the lateral slots on the thigh / lower leg frame.
Now thread the quick-fit fasteners (E) onto the exposed ends of
10
the four belts that have just been attached.
Fitting the cushions
Secure the cushions (D) to the insides of the straps in order of
11
size from proximal to distal. Position the cushions with the shorter
long side toward the hinge. Position the cushions which are away
from the hinge on the lower leg with the longer long side toward the
hinge. Attach the remaining small cushion to the strap on the ventral
side of the lower leg frame. Fasten the additional sixth large cushion
to the strap on the ventral side of the thigh frame.
Select the thickness of the condylar cushions (I) and secure them
12
to the insides of the hinge with the Velcro.
Fitting the tibial edge cushion (optional)
Affix the tibial edge cushion (F) medially or laterally from the
13
tibial edge in the lower leg frame to relieve the tibial edge. The
second cushion may also be affixed if desired.
