Method 3: Autoclave
• With device cleaned and disassembled, wrap components to keep clean.
• Time and temperature parameters vary widely according to the type of autoclave and packaging
material. Follow manufacturer's instructions for loading and operating the autoclave.
• Make sure direct steam exposure to all surfaces is possible.
• Pre cycle vacuum (2psia / 14kPa) then steam disinfect at 132°C to 134°C for 4 minutes.
• Once device is removed from the autoclave, allow components to reach room temperature
before reassembly, handling, storage or use.
• Following the disinfection procedure, subject to routine cleaning (see Cleaning section).
