The Shares screen allows you to manage your shares. Each share will
show up as a unique drive letter in Windows or a volume in Mac OS X.
You can create a maximum of 32 shares on your Drobo FS or 64 shares
on your DroboPro FS (32 per Volume). In order to manage the shares,
you must first set an Administration username and password. See page
9 (Drobo FS) or page 13 (DroboPro FS) for more information.
To create a new share:
1. In the Share Name panel, click Add.
2. Provide a unique name for the new share (27 characters
maximum). You cannot use the following characters:
< > : \ / | ? * \ " and ASCII values 0 – 31. (See
http://www.asciitable.com/
characters.)
3. If your product is the DroboPro FS, you can choose either
Volume 1 or Volume 2 where the share will reside. Volume 1 is
the default. (Not available on the Drobo FS)
4. Click OK.
5. Highlight (click) the new share name and select the user(s) you
want to have access to the new share. The Users pane will list
all users already setup on the FS array. Highlight the user and
click Add in the "Users who can use this share" pane.
