Network Failure Protection: The network interfaces are configured as
one interface. Only one interface will be active at a given time with the
other interface in standby. When a link failure is detected for the active
interface the standby interface will become the active interface if
connected. For maximum protection, each port should be connected to
a separate switch on the same subnet.
Note: If you do not check the "Network Failure Protection" checkbox, your
DroboPro FS is in the Independent mode.
Your DroboPro FS defaults to Independent mode. To switch to the
Network Failure Protection mode, simply click the checkbox next to the
name. When you check this box, the "Network 2" column will be grayed
out (inactive). After you click "OK," your DroboPro FS will have a
"bonded" IP address--both the "Network 1" and "Network 2" settings
will be identical.
