If possible, defrost the freezer in winter
when the outside temperature is low.
You can then store the food on the balcony
(or similar) while defrosting.
Alternatively, you can wrap up the frozen food
in a thick layer of newspaper and store it in a
cool room or insulated bag.
Preparation
To ensure the frozen goods have a cold re-
serve and do not defrost so quickly, set to
"Quick refrigerating" and "Quick freezing" at
least 3 hours before cleaning.
• Press the MODE button (32) repeatedly
until the QUICK FRZ
symbols appear on the display.
Keep the door to the fridge closed dur-
ing cleaning so that no warm air enters
the fridge. Refrigerated food can withstand
several hours in this way.
Should you need a longer time to clean, re-
move the refrigerated goods from the fridge.
Ensure that your food is kept cool enough.

Emptying the freezer

1. Press ICE OFF button (30) to switch off
the ice maker.
2. Disconnect the mains plug from the sock-
et or switch off the fuse.
3. Remove the frozen food from the freezer.
4. Wrap the frozen food thickly in newspaper
and store it in a cool room. To do this, you
can use the fridge section of the appli-
ance, for example.
5. Remove the internal fixtures from the
freezer: Glass shelves (6), ice cube con-
tainer (4), freezer drawers (7) and (8),
4-star door shelf (1) and 2-star door
shelves (3).

Cleaning
1. Clean the ice cube container (4) as de-
scribed in section „Cleaning the ice cube
container" on page EN-31.
2. Wash the internal fixtures in warm water
with washing up liquid and dry thoroughly.
3. Wipe down the inside with warm water
and washing-up liquid.
4. When wiping clean, add a few drops of
vinegar to the water to prevent mould
from forming.
5. Only clean the door seals with clean wa-
ter; they are sensitive to oil and fat.
6. Rub everything completely dry, including
the door seals, and allow to air briefly.
Using the appliance again
1. Re-insert the internal fittings.
2. Connect the mains plug to the socket or
switch on the fuse again.
3. To quickly cool the fridge and freezer
compartments, switch on "Quick freezing"
QUICK FRZ and "Quick refrigerat-
ing" QUICK REF at the same time (see
page EN-15).
4. Place the frozen food back into the freez-
er once the freezer has reached a tem-
perature of −18°C and switch off 'Quick
refrigerating' and 'Quick freezing'.
5. Set the desired fridge and freezer temper-
ature (see page EN-14).
6. To switch on the ice maker, press the ICE
OFF button (30).
The ice maker is switched on when the
(28) symbol goes out.
