These operating instructions contain all necessary information to correctly mount, in-
stall, commission, and program the SED1 variable speed drive as well as to enable
efficient and trouble-free operation of the variable speed drives.
These operating instructions:
– are valid for all SED1 type variable speed drives
– are included with all SED1 variable speed drives and are part of the total documen-
tation
– contain all necessary information regarding correct mounting, installation, commis-
sioning and programming of the SED1 variable speed drive.

This document targets installation technicians, service technicians and end users of
HVAC systems.
The SED1 variable speed drives are manufactured to control the speed of three-phase
asynchronous and synchronous induction motors. The variable speed drives are only
suitable for use with centrifugal type pumps and fans where load torque is proportional
to the square of speed.
