Basic mode parameters
Parameter Function
Ramp-Up time
This is the time taken for the motor to accelerate from standstill to the maximum frequency. The maximum frequency
is set by parameter P013. Setting the ramp-up time too short can cause the variable speed drive to trip (fault code
F001 = DC Link overcurrent).
Ramp-Down time
This is the time taken for the motor to decelerate from a maximum frequency to standstill. The maximum frequency
is set by parameter P013. Setting the ramp-down time too short can cause the variable speed drive to trip (fault
code F001 = DC Link overvoltage). This is also the period for which injection braking is applied if selected (refer to
parameter P073 in Expert mode).
Frequency Setpoint source selection
The value of this parameter (0, 1 or 2) selects the mode of control of the variable speed drive's frequency setpoint.
0 = Digital Motorised Potentiometer. The SED1 variable speed drive runs at the frequency set in P005 (refer to
Expert mode) and can be controlled with the [up] and [down] keys. If P007 (See below) is set to 0, the fre-
quency can be increased or decreased by setting any two of the digital inputs (P051 to P055 or P356 – refer to
Expert mode) to the values of 11 and 12.
1 = Analogue. The SED1 variable speed drive output frequency is controlled by analogue input signals (0-10V, 0/4-
20mA or potentiometer)
2 = Fixed Frequency. Fixed frequency is only selected by setting the value of at least one of the digital inputs (P051
to P055 or P536 – refer to Expert mode) to the value of 6 or 18.
Keypad Control
The value of this parameter (0 or1) configures keypad control.
0 = Control is by digital inputs (P051 to P055 or P356, see Expert mode)
1 = Front Panel (Keypad) control enabled. However, the values of P121 and P124 determine the level of control
enabled from the keypad (refer to Expert mode).
Minimum Motor Frequency
This value sets the minimum motor frequency and must logically be less than the value of P013 (see below).
Maximum Motor Frequency
This value sets the maximum motor frequency. To maintain stable operation, this value must not generally exceed
the nominal rating plate motor frequency when operating pumps and fans.
Start on the Fly
Flying Restart
0 = Flying Restart Disabled
2 = Flying Restart Enabled
Allows the variable speed drive SED1 to start onto a spinning motor. Always enter the correct motor nameplate
details when enabling this feature.
