What to do if ...
(troubleshooting guide)
❑ After powering up, the motor does not per-
form any motion
a Check connection of the tubular motor to the electri-
cal current.
b Verify the insertion of For-Max in the motor tube.
c Verify that the power supply voltage corresponds to
the value stated in the technical specifications. If
voltage is correct, there may be a serious fault, in
which case deliver the tubular motor to a Technical
Service Centre for repairs.
❑ After a command is sent, the motor does
not move.
a If the motor was running correctly shortly before-
hand, a thermal cut-out device may have tripped, in
which case wait a few minutes for the motor to cool.
b Ensure that at least one transmitter is memorised
(see paragraph 6.3).
c Ensure that communication between the transmitter
and For-Max is active, as follows:
• press the key ■ of a transmitter for 5 seconds and
check that the motor performs 1 VIBRATION (=
communication ok!). If this is not so, perform the
check described in the previous point.
• Ensure correct emission of the radio signal from
the transmitter, making the following empirical test:
move the transmitter led as close as possible (a few
centimetres) to the aerial of a common radio device
(the cheaper the better) turned on and tuned to an
FM band at the frequency of 108.5 MHz or there-
abouts. Then press and hold any key on the trans-
mitter. If this functions correctly, a slight cracking
sound should be heard on the radio.
d Press one transmitter key at a time; if none of these
activates motor movement, this means that this
transmitter is not memorised in For-Max.
❑ Although limit positions "0" and "1" have
been programmed, during the Down ma -
18 – English
noeuvre, the motor moves exclusively while
the command key is pressed for the entire
duration of the manoeuvre, i.e. in "hold-to-
run" mode.
Self-diagnostics of parameters in the memory has
detected an error in the parameters. Therefore delete
the memory (see paragraph 8.5) and repeat all pro-
gramming procedures.
❑ The system shows less sensitivity in obsta-
cle detection.
- Clean the guides of the shutters to remove any imper-
fections and ensure completely smooth movement.
- Eliminate any mechanical blockages.
- Secure the tubular motor and shutter roller complete-
ly to reduce system oscillations and vibrations.
❑ The system shows excessive sensitivity in
obstacle detection.
- Continue to press the same pushbutton to complete
the travel.
- Run the shutter through a couple of complete open-
ing and closing cycles.
❑ During the Down manoeuvre, before reach-
ing position "1" or set position "H", the mo -
tor stops
Check whether there are any obstacles preventing nor-
mal movement of the shutter. In these cases For-Max
stops the current manoeuvre in progress as it detects
excessive force of the motor, and does not re-attempt
to complete the interrupted manoeuvre.
Disposal of the product
This product constitutes an integral part of the
automation system, therefore it must be disposed
of along with it.
As in installation, also at the end of product lifetime, the
disassembly and scrapping operations must be per-
formed by qualified personnel.
