Safety monitoring

Heed the handling instructions relating to ESD when
working on open devices. These instructions can be
found in EDIS under "Bosch Test Equipment >> Test
systems AZ >> General information >> Safety".
Test pressures up to 220 MPa (2200 bar) may occur
in the test system whilst checking common rail high-
pressure pumps. To protect users, a splash guard with
safety switch monitoring system is absolutely essential.
The splash guard housing consists of a frame with five
large folding doors. The entire housing is mounted on
the oil collector of the EPS.
The safety switches are located at the top in the frame
of the splash guard housing. The switch box for door
monitoring is attached to the heat exchanger by way
of a mounting plate. If the safety monitoring system
is triggered by opening the folding doors, the control
device de-energizes the pressure control valves in the
rail, thus reducing the test pressure to below 20 MPa
(200 bar).
