10. Push the Mahlen Aus (Grinding off) button to deactivate the coffee maker's grinder. The
following symbol will appear on the display indicating that the grinder has been deacti-
vated:

11. Push the An/Aus (On/Off) button to turn the device on. A coffee cup symbol will appear
on the display indicating that the brewing process has started.
12. The brewing process will start as soon as you press the An/Aus (On/Off) button.
13. Once the brewing process is complete, a beep is emitted and the coffee cup symbol will
blink on the display. Please keep in mind that the brewing process is only complete when
no more water fl ows out of the spout!
14. After the brewing process, you can take the glass pot off of the heating plate and serve the
coffee.
15. The heating plate will stay on for approximately 2 hours after the brewing process and then
automatically deactivates. The coffee cup symbol blinks continually on the display during
this time. When the heating plate turns off, you will hear a signal tone and the coffee cup
symbol will disappear from the display.
16. If you would like to turn off the coffee maker before the 2 hours have passed, push the An/
Aus (On/Off) button.
17. After use, clean the device as described in the chapter "Care and decalcifying".
The coffee maker has a drip guard valve. You can also take the glass pot off of the heat-
ing plate during the brewing process and pour yourself a cup of coffee. But please keep
in mind: You should place the glass pot back on the heating plate within 20 seconds to
prevent the coffee fi lter from overfl owing with water!

Timer function

The coffee maker has an automatic coffee brewing function. You can select the time, at which the
coffee maker automatically begins the brewing process. Follow the steps below for this.
1. Fill the coffee maker as described in the sections "Brewing coffee with freshly ground beans"
and/or "Brewing coffee with coffee powder" depending on whether you prefer coffee with
freshly ground beans or coffee powder.
2. Push the Programm (Programme) button to access the Timer menu.
3. Now set the automatic start time with the Stunde (Hour) and Minute buttons. Hold the
buttons down for quick selection.
4a. If you would like to brew with coffee powder, push the Mahlen Aus (Grinder off) button
to deactivate the grinder.
4b. If you would like to brew with freshly ground beans, set the number of cups using the
2 – 10 Tassen (Cups) button and the strength using the Kaffeestärke (Coffee strength)
button.
5. Push the AUTO button to activate the timer function. The current time will appear on
the display again and a clock symbol will appear indicating that the timer function has been
activated.
6. The brewing and/or grinding process will start at this time. When the brewing and/or grind-
ing process begins, the clock symbol on the display will disappear.
