Switch on the cameras
When the car's ignition is switched on, the ACE
2.0 automatically activates driving mode and
the ACE 2.0 app can connect to the ACE 2.0.
The following contains instructions for
switching on the ignition in your car regardless
of the transmission type.
Please also refer to the user's manual for
your car.

Set the date and time
The ACE 2.0 automatically sets the time and
date using the GPS time (UTC time zone).
However, the ACE 2.0 requires a GPS signal for
this purpose.
It will adjust to your time zone and to summer
and winter time using the time on your
smartphone (the ACE 2.0 and your smartphone
must be connected for this purpose).
Connecting to a smartphone
The ACE 2.0 app must not be used by
the driver whilst the engine is running.
To connect your smartphone to the ACE 2.0,
enable the Wi-Fi function on your smartphone
and connect to the following:
SSID: BMWACE2.0
Standard password: 1234567890
Switch on ignition
by ...
Press Start-Stop
button once
You must also disable power saving mode on
your smartphone. On certain smartphones,
the connection between ACE 2.0 and the
smartphone may fail if power saving mode is
active. Furthermore, some smartphone models
do not generally support a permanent Wi-Fi
connection with other devices.
The ACE 2.0 can generally only be
connected to one smartphone at any
one time.
After connection, the ACE 2.0 app will adopt the
language set on your smartphone.
For security reasons, the system will ask
you to change the standard password
(at least 8 characters) and the SSID.
When you have changed your password
and the SSID, you will have to repeat the
login process on your smartphone using
the new access data.
With firmware version 1.20 or higher, you can
also establish a connection after the engine/
ignition has been switched off. The default
setting provides a timeframe of 3 minutes for
this purpose (power-down time).
The connection will remain active for as long as
you interact with the ACE 2.0 using the ACE 2.0
app.
