The shaft is inseparably connected to the impeller, the end shield and the
rotor. This unit is protected against accidental removal of the motor. If the
rotor is not held in the motor housing by its powerful magnets, this could
constitute a considerable hazard, e.g. sudden attraction of iron/steel objects,
interference with electrical devices (physical harm to pacemaker wearers),
destruction of magnetic cards, etc.

7.1.2 Insulation of the pump in systems with condensate formation

The Wilo-Stratos PARA series is suitable for use in cooling, air-conditioning and
similar systems with minimum fluid temperatures up to –10°C. Condensation
may occur on parts carrying fluids, such as pipelines or pump housings, if the
ambient temperature is higher than the temperature of the fluid. Intermittent
operation of the pump is also permitted under these conditions.
Application in these systems requires diffusion-proof insulation provided by
the customer.
CAUTION! Risk of damage to the pump
The pump housing may only be insulated up to the joint to the motor, so that
the drill holes for condensate drainage remain uncovered and condensate
forming in the motor can drain freely (Fig. 3).
The pump housing is protected against corrosion by a cataphoretic coating.

7.2 Electrical connections

Electrical connection must be carried out by an electrician certified by the
local energy supply company in accordance with local regulations in force
(e.g. VDE regulations).
• The power supply cable (Fig. 1, Pos. 8) is permanently connected to the pump
with a plug (Fig. 1, Pos. 9). The free end must be connected to the system
switchbox (Fig. 4a).
• Black/brown wire:L1 (Phase)
• Blue wire:N (neutral conductor)
• Green-yellow wire:
• The power supply cable must be fed to the system switchbox via a cable con-
nection with strain relief. Ensure strain relief and tightness against dripping/
condensation water. If required, the cable can be fitted with a drip-water
drainage loop to avoid water remaining on the cable connection.
• A motor protection switch supplied by the customer is not required. Never-
theless, if such a protection switch is available, it must be bypassed or set to the
highest possible current.
• The pump may be secured with a ground fault circuit interrupter.
