try – Recording Input Setup. "LINE" will be shown on the display
(Figure 8-7).
3. Connect the line-in socket with the audio source by means of an au-
dio cable.
4. Press the REPEAT/FOLDER button to select the folder you want to
record to.
5. Press the REC/PAUSE button to begin recording.
® To pause or stop recording, follow the same procedure as for re-
cording with the built-in microphone.
4) FM Radio Recording (7880 only)
1) Switch the Voice Tracer on.
2) If you are not in FM Radio mode, press the REPEAT/
FOLDER button for a few moments to enter this mode.
3) Select the station you want to record. For details, please
read the FM Radio Reception chapter.
4) Press the RECORD button to record the currently se-
lected FM radio station (Figure 8-8).

Playback

1) Normal Playback

(1) Press the PLAY/PAUSE button for a few moments to switch the
Voice Tracer on.

If you are in FM Radio mode (7880 only), press the REPEAT/
FOLDER button for a few moments to exit this mode.
(2) Press the REPEAT/FOLDER button to go the folder where the de-
sired file is stored.
(3) Press the PLAY button. The playback time will be shown on the dis-
play, and the green LED will light.
(4) Adjust the volume using the Volume Up and Down but-
tons.
(5) Press the STOP/MENU button during playback to stop.
The total playback time of the current file will be shown
on the display.
(6) Press the PLAY button again to continue playback from
the previous position.
2) Slow Playback
® Available for voice-file playback only
(1) Press the PLAY button for a few moments to switch
from normal playback to slow playback (Figure 9-2).
(2) Press the PLAY button for a few moments again to re-
turn to normal playback.
3) Search
(1) Press and hold the NEXT or BACK button for a few moments dur-
ing playback to scan forward or backward in the current file at a fast

speed.
(2) When you release the NEXT or BACK button, playback will resume
at the selected speed (normal or slow) from the point where you re-
lease the button.
® If you press and hold the NEXT button until the end of the current
file, the Voice Tracer will continue scanning through the next file.
4) Repeat Playback
(1) Repeating a Section
(1) During playback, press the REPEAT/FOLDER button at
the beginning of the section you want to repeat. The A B
indicator will blink on the display (Figure 10-1).
(2) Press the REPEAT/FOLDER button again at the end of
