Recording Sensitivity: To record sounds from all directions, for ex-
ample when recording conferences, switch to high sensitivity mode.
When you record personal notes and you want to avoid recording
noises from around you, switch to low sensitivity mode.

Different recording modes: Select between different recording
modes; you have the freedom of choice between long-lasting recording
capacity and outstanding sound quality. Choose according to your
needs, or switch to lower recording quality modes when you want to
save memory capacity.
Large voice recording capacity: Ample internal memory allows you
to record and store long voice recordings. There is no need to down-
load or delete files to free up space.
Voice activated recording mode: Use this convenient feature when
Recording you want to dictate hands-free. When enabled, recording will start au-
tomatically when the input level exceeds a certain threshold - usually
when you start dictating. Recordings stop automatically after you stop
speaking and restart automatically when you start speaking again.
Auto divide: Automatically divides long recordings into separate files
(30 or 60 minutes in length each). This makes it much easier to find,
edit and archive recordings of long meetings or lectures.
External source recording (line recording): With this feature,
you can record directly from an external audio source such as an audio
CD player in good sound quality. Available with DVT 7880.
Feature Benefits
File preview / intro scan: This function scans through all recordings
by playing back the first few seconds of each file. This makes it easier to
search for a specific file or to browse through all recordings.
Slow playback: Recordings will be played back at slower speed, for
example to make it easier to take notes.
