1. Connecting the adapter
Insert the adapter into the flash unit's sync socket. For connec-
tion to the camera, use the original Pentax 4 P synchro cord B.
2. Automatic operation with TTL flash metering control
TTL flash control means that the amount of flash light fired is
controlled by a sensor built into the camera.
Settings on camera: Set the film speed. Bring the program se-
lector into "Auto" position and select the desired f-number.
When doing so, consult the table for the auto flash ranges ac
companying the adapter!
Settings on flashgun: Select the manual mode "M".
Turn the flash unit on. When flash readiness is reached, the
symbol 125
appears in the viewfinder. At the same time a
ffash sync speed of 1/125 s is automatically set. Correct expo-
sure is obtained if the
symbol glows continuously or blinks
after the shutter has been released. However, if the
symbol is
darkfor a few seconds after shutter release, the lightning was
insuffficient and the picture must be taken again using a larger
l e n s o p e n i n g .
No flash will be fired if the existing light of the room is sufficient
for normal picture shooting. The picture is then taken with the
shutter speed given in the viewfinder.
3. Automatic operation without TTL flash metering control
(Flashlight controlled by sensor built into the flashgun)
lmportant: Camera und flashgun are connected by means of
the normal sync cable, not by means of the special
adapter C 80.
Brief instructions:
Setiings on camera: Set the shutter speed to 1/125 s flash
sync speed or slower and select the desired f-number.
Settings on flash unit: Set the film speed and desired auto-
aperture. The aperture selected on the flashgun must be identi-
cal to the f-number set on the camera!
