8.4 Line ALC/AES – automatic exposure control

8.4.1 AES mode

The AES mode automatically controls the picture
brightness by changing the shutter time. If a lens with
iris control is connected, the iris is completely opened.
In case of too much light, the shutter time is reduced.
There is an improved recognition of rapid movements,
however, with open iris, the depth of focus is reduced.

lens, however, it can manually be optimized in a cer-
tain range with the adjustment "LEVEL". For this
purpose select the line "LEVEL" with the key
