1. INTRODUCTORY NOTES

Safety instructions

Installation, connection, commissioning and repairs should only be carried out by a
competent person. This professional can determine the appropriate fixture and air out-
let for the hood. The fixture must be suitable for the weight of the hood and the load on
the base. Comply with the pull-out values of the supplied dowels. Depending on the
base, these are as follows: Dowel Ø10 mm, concrete B25 9.4 kN, clay brick Z20 5.2
KN, sand- lime brick KSV20 4.8 KN. In case of other unsafe bases, consult a special-
ist in building matters, e.g. a structural engineer or architect, to safely install the ex-
tractor hood.
Risk of injury!
For manufacturing reasons, the hood body may have sharp edges. Therefore, during
installation, protective gloves are to be worn.
Risk of electric shock
The mains voltage must comply with the details on the nameplate.
This is located in the filter area inside the hood. Connect the extractor hood only to
a properly installed earthed wall socket. After installation, the socket must be easily
accessible so that the extractor hood may be disconnected from the mains voltage if
required. In case of a fixed connection (e.g. if an appropriate socket is not available),
the extractor hood may be connected to the mains voltage only by a qualified electri-
cian. In case of a fixed connection, the extractor hood must be connected to a single
-phase circuit provided with a disconnecting device. A disconnecting device can be a
switch with a contact opening of at least 3 mm and with all-pole switches, e.g. minia-
ture circuit breakers and contactors. Before working on the electrical connection of
the extractor hood, disconnect the mains circuit (s). Before drilling mounting holes,
check that no electric cables and lines can be damaged by boring. The electrical
connection must be prepared in such a way that the extractor hood can be easily con-
nected to it. In this case, local regulations must be adhered to.
Aspiration (for recirculation mode)
The hood discharge cannot be conveyed to a fireplace used for unloading of fuels
(e.g. gas). Always observe local regulations for air discharge. The discharge trace
must be so arranged as to allow a smooth connection to the hood. The discharge
hose must not be bent. If the hood is operated in aspiration mode at the same time as
