Saw blade installation
The sawing performance and the quality of the cut
depend essentially on the condition and tooth form of
the saw blade. Therefore, use only sharp saw blades
that are suitable for the material to be worked.
Swing back the swinging guard (8) with the lever (6).
Depress the spindle locking button (3).
Install a suitable saw blade according to the illustration
and tighten. Take care that the mounting flange (21)
and the clamping flange (19) are correctly positioned.
Observe for installation: The cutting direction
of the teeth (arrow on the saw blade (10)) must
match the direction of the arrow on the guard.
Check the function of the swinging guard.
Operating Instructions
Feeding too fast significantly reduces the perform-
ance of the machine and shortens the life of the saw
blade.
Use only sharp saw blades in perfect condition.
Uncoated saw blades can be protected from corro-
sion with a thin coat of acid-free oil.
Resin and glue on the saw blade cause poor cutting
results. Therefore, clean the saw blade immediately
after use.
Working different materials
Wood
The proper selection of the saw blade is dependent on
the type and quality of the wood as well as whether the
wood is to be sawed along or across the grain.
Beech and oak dust is especially detrimental to health
and therefore should be worked only with vacuum dust
extraction.
Plastic
When cutting plastic, especially PVC, long, spiral
shaped shavings are produced that can be electrostati-
cally charged.
This can cause the ejector (4) to become clogged and
the swinging protective guard (8) to stick. The use of a
vacuum cleaner for dust extraction is recommended.
Apply the machine running against the workpiece and
carefully start sawing. Then saw steadily and without
interruption so that the saw teeth have less chance of
sticking.

Non-ferrous Metals
Use only a suitable and sharp saw blade. This ensures
a clean cut and prevents jamming of the saw blade.
Apply the machine running to the workpiece, carefully
start sawing and then saw with slow feeding and with-
out interruption.
For profiles, always start the cut on the small side; for
U-profiles, never start the cuts on the open side.
Support long profile, otherwise the saw blade can
become jammed when the profile tips over and the
machine can "kick back".
Material with Mineral Contet
(Light building material)
Only dry cutting is permitted.
Use vacuum dust extraction. The vacuum cleaner
must be suitable for masonry dust.
Use of Accessories
The machine has a longitudinal slot at the base plate
underside to take up a guide rail.
With this guide rail, it is made easy to carry out larger
cuts.
PROTOOL Guiding System
(see appendix)
For easy and safe handling when cutting large work
pieces as well as for achieving exact angle cuts, the use
of the GRP 750/1500 guiding system is recommended.
With it, clean cuts are possible by precision guiding of
the machine along a cutting line. In addition, the hard
anodising of the guide rail makes possible easy gliding
of the machine and thereby reduces the required
advancing force while improving the work progress.
Mounting the Guide Rail (GRP 750/1500)
The mounting of the guide rail (26) takes place with the
use of the special screw clamps CL-GRP (27) which
are slid into the receptacle slots provided (Figure ).
This makes secure holding possible also on uneven sur-
faces. In addition, the „Anti-slip Coating" applied to
the underside of the guide rail ensures secure contact
and prevents scratches on sensitive material surfaces.
Mounting the Connection Piece (CN-GRP)
Depending on the application and the size of the work
piece, several guide rails can be connected together
(Bild ) with the use of the connection piece (29). For
the permanent connection of several guide rails, the
connection pieces can be fastened with screws at the
respective threaded holes.
