Always hold the machine with both hands during
operation and make sure you have a firm foothold.
Always lay the cable away from the machine
towards the rear.
Clamp the work-piece if it cannot be secured by its
own weight.
Apply the machine to the material only after it has
been switched on.
The cutting path must be free of obstacles on the top
and the bottom.
Keep hands away from the rotating saw blade. Be
careful not to come in contact with the rotating saw
blade on the underside of the workpiece.
The saw blade should not protrude below the work-
piece more than 3 mm.
Do not cut into nails, screws, etc.
If the saw blade becomes jammed, switch off the
machine immediately.
Do not stop the saw blade after switching off with
side pressure.
Always remove the plug from the power supply
socket before carrying out any work on the
machine, when interrupting work and when not
using the machine.
Do not use saw blades that have cracks or that are
damaged.
Saw blades of highly alloyed, high-speed steel
(HSS-steel) must not be used.
The saw blade and riving knife must not become
stuck in the cut. The saw tooth offset must be wider
and the main body of the saw blade thinner than the
thickness of the riving knife.
Do not leave clamping tools inserted.
Do not carry the machine by the power cord.
Persons under 16 are not permitted to use the appli-
ance.

Before Putting into Operation

Checking the adjustment of the riving
knife
The riving knife (22) must always be used for safety
reasons. The riving knife prevents the saw blade from
becoming jammed when making lengthwise cuts.
To adjust the riving knife, set the cutting depth with the
clamping lever (24) to "Minimum" (machine swung
up) (see part "Cutting Depth Adjustment").
10
Loosen screw (5), adjust the riving knife (22) and re-
tighten the screw (see figure).

Check the function of the swinging guard (8).

Initial Operation

The voltage specifications on the rating plate must cor-
respond with the mains voltage. Equipment marked
with 230 V can also be connected to 220 V / 240 V.
Switching On/Off
Switching On:
Press the safety button (1).
Press the on-off switch and hold depressed.
Note: The on-off switch cannot be locked on.
Switching Off:
Release the on-off switch (2).
Electronic Motor Control (CSP 68 E)
Starting current limiting
The electronically controlled smooth start takes care
that the machine starts without jerk. As a result of the
machine's reduced starting current, a 16 A fuse is suf-
ficient
No-load speed reduction
The electronic control reduces the no-load speed of the
machine which results in reduced noise and wear of
motor and gear.
Speed pre-selection
With the speed control (16), the speed can be continu-
ously pre-selected:
Speed 1: 1800 min
-1
Speed 4: 3000 min
Speed 2: 2200 min
-1
Speed 5: 3400 min
-1
Speed 3: 2600 min
Speed 6: 3800 min
The required speed depends on the saw blade used and
the material to be worked.
