11. MAC OPTIMIZATIONS
11.1 Checking the device status
Once connected to a Mac computer, the controller is listed under System Profiler [Applications] >
[Utilities] as USB device [OMNITRONIC TMC-1 MK2].
11.2 Regarding USB ports
To prevent problems such as audio interrupts, it is recommended to use specific USB ports on MacBooks
with Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors.
Generally, use the USB port farthest away from the display for USB audio devices. In case of models with
USB ports on both sides, USB audio devices should only be connected to the USB ports on the left side.

11.3 Power management

Modern computer systems, and especially mobile devices, are engineered for the purpose of saving as
much energy as possible. However, this is often at the cost of the computer's overall performance, making it
more likely to experience audio dropouts. The following should be tried to eradicate energy-saving related
performance problems.
To change power settings got to [Apple Menu] > [System Preferences] > [Energy Saver] > [Options]:
• Choose [Highest] form the [Processor Performance] tab (no available on each model)
• Under the [Sleep] tab set all sliders to [Never]
• Uncheck [Put the display to sleep when the computer is inactive for]
• Uncheck [Put hard disk to sleep when possible]
