9. EFFECT FUNCTIONS

9.1 Switching on effects

Select the desired effect by pressing the button [EFFECT SELECTOR] repeatedly. The display of the
deck shows the selected effect.

Press the button [EFFECT ON] (LED lights up) to switch on the selected effect. In the display, the
selector panel is highlighted red. To switch off the effect press the button once again (LED
extinguishes).

Adjust the parameters of the effects as desired with the control [PARAMETER 1] and [2].

9.2 Playing samples

Virtual DJ features a powerful sampler, which allows for recording a loop of a title on the fly and playing it in
addition to your mix during a session. This recorded loop is called a sample.
There are six preset samples available. The software allows you to record your own samples and assign
them to the other six storage places. All samples can be combined as desired.

Turn the control [SAMPLE SELECTOR] to select the desired sample. The corresponding LED of the
[SAMPLE DISPLAY] lights up red.

Press the button [SAMPLER PLAY] to play the sample. In the display, the selector panel is highlighted
green.

There are two types of samples: linear samples are played beginning to end and circular samples are
played as continuous loop until you press the control [SAMPLE SELECTOR]. You can set the type with
the software ( section 9.3).

Adjust the level of the sample selected with the control [SAMPLER VOLUME].

If required, further samples can be activated and played in the same way.

The button [SAMPLER PLAY] can be used for stutter effects. By shortly pressing the button several
times, the sample selected last is restarted, creating stutter effects.
