Fault diagnosis
This chapter describes how you can identify and detect
errors that are interfering with the function of the
IN4000 Direct safety switch.
7.1

Safety

Hazard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective
device
The persons and parts of the body to be protected
will not be detected on failure to observe.
⋅ Immediately shut down the machine in case of
unclear behavior.
⋅ In case of error stop the machine immediately if you
cannot clearly identify or allocate the error or if you
cannot safely rectify the malfunction.
⋅ Secure machine against unintentional switching on.
Hazard due to unexpected starting of the machine
⋅ Secure machine against unintentional switching on.
⋅ If you cannot rectify an error with the help of the
information provided in this chapter, please contact
your local SICK representative.
In case of an error the type of error is indicated via the
LED display on the sender or on the receiver.
