4.2 Measuring high Voltage

For measurements of voltages higher than 60 V DC or 30 V AC, never connect
the two probes at the same time with the device under test. First connect the
ground measuring cable with an insulated alligator clip to the ground
connection (e.g. the green yellow protective conductor of a power cord) and
then the red measuring cable also using an insulated alligator clip to the other
measuring point of the device under test). This prevents accidental short
circuits caused by lack of concentration or when it is hard to approach the
device under test. Therefore always first connect the ground measuring lead
and then the live conductor.

5. Voltage Measurement DC/AC

Make sure the Sleep Mode is not on if you found there is no display on the
LCD after turning on the Meter.
Make sure the Low Battery Display is not on; otherwise false readings may
be provided.
DC Voltage Measurement
Warning
To avoid harms to you or damages to the multimeter from electric shock,
please do not attempt to measure voltages higher than 1000 V or 750 V
rms although readings may be obtained.
The DC Voltage ranges are: 200 mV, 2 V, 20 V, 200 V and 1000 V. To
measure DC voltage, connect the multimeter as follows:
1. Insert the red test lead into the
V/Ω/
/ºC/ºF input (21) and
the black test lead into the
COM input (22).
2. Set the rotary switch (20) to an
appropriate
position in V= range.
3. Connect the test leads across
