Operation
The smoke generator in the locomo-
tive is on continuously when the
locomotive is operated with conven-
tional DC power. The other functions
are turned off. The smoke generator
must not be operated without smoke
fluid in it. For that reason you should
remove the smoke generator if you
want to run the model for long peri-
ods of time without smoke fluid.
2.4 The Built-In Sound
Effects Circuit
The sound effects circuit is plugged
in on the backside of the digital
decoder. You can make the following
adjustments and settings on it:
22
Adjusting the volume
Turn the potentiometer to the left –
sound reproduction becomes softer
Turn the potentiometer to the –
sound reproduction becomes louder
This Potentiometer has a stop at the
left and right end positions. You
should therefore never try to turn the
Potentiometer with force past the
end positions.
Setting the Coding Switches for
the Sound Effects Circuit
Caution: You must not confuse the
coding switches on the sound effects
circuit with the coding switches on
the digital decoder for setting the
locomotive's address! Incorrect
switch settings on the sound effects
circuit can cause damage to this
circuit.
The sound image set with the coding
switches has been tuned specifically
for the prototypical sounds of the
class 78. We therefore recommend
that you do not change these set-
tings. The table below gives informa-
tion about the function back of the
individual switches, should you deci-
de to make changes anyway.
We recommend that you select the
lowest maximum speed and the hig-
hest level of acceleration / braking
delay in order to create an impressive
sound image.
