13.2 OPERATION

The unit can be started for use after carrying out the preliminary checks.
•
Start the unit by switching on the power to the electric motor.
•
Check the operating pressure or vacuum and also compliance with the values given in the "SPECIFICATIONS". Pressure losses in
the pipes are often underestimated but are decisive factors for the operating differential pressure.
•
Measure the motor absorption and check compliance with the rated value.

13.3 STOPPING

•
The unit must be stopped by switching off the power supply to the motor.
•
In case of shutdown, make sure to operate the unit with the inlet open for about 20 minutes. This operation allows the removal any
condensate in the suction chamber.

14 MAINTENANCE

In order to prevent faults and damage it is important to periodically check the units in operation, therefore it is advisable to adopt a
maintenance plan in line with this Manual, providing for:

14.1 PERIODICAL CHECKS
NOTE FOR THE The units in operation should undergo periodical inspections by qualified personnel, in order to prevent failures

Danger of burns caused by contact with hot surfaces of the unit!!
When in operation the blowers / exhausters can reach high surface temperatures.
Before carrying out any operation after shutdown allow the unit to cool by waiting at least 20 minutes.
A) With the unit in operation periodically check the following parameters:
•
Delivery temperature
•
Operating pressure and/or vacuum
•
Electric motor current absorption
•
State of filter
•
Vibration
•
State of flexible coupling
Measurement of vibration
The measurements for determining the vibration velocity [mm/s]
must be done with an electronic vibration meter, at the following
places:
•
Points P1 and P2 (front bearing):
meter on the front flange near the front bearing,
adopting the highest value.
•
Points P3 and P4 (rear bearing): The vibration meter
must be put on the lantern near the bearing seating, and
the highest value must be recorded.
Legend:
Classification of machines:
Class I = SCL with electric motor of power ≤ 15kW
Class II = SCL with electric motor of power > 15kW
Appraisal zones:
Zone A = SCL with vibration (a) inside this zone they
are considered acceptable for a long-term duty.
Zone B = SCL with vibration (a) inside this zone they
are considered unsuitable for a continuous long-term
duty. The machine can be operated in these
conditions for a limited period, as long as there is the
opportunity for a suitable corrective action.
