has responded which is, however, undefined and puts unnecessary strain on the device under test. After
the Test button is released, the recorded response value is displayed again.
If low BATT is displayed during testing or remains displayed after switching on the tester (low battery
indication), the battery has to be replaced or the accumulator has to be recharged or the power supply
unit included in delivery has to be used for external power supply in order to continue testing.
Before replacing the battery, the device has to be switched off and all cables have to be unplugged.
Some types of batteries do not provide sufficient energy in order to generate the full test voltage. Therefore,
alcaline batteries should be preferably used.
The battery compartment at the rear side of the device can be opened using your finger nail or a screw
driver. Remove the discharged battery, fix the new 9V battery on the clip and close the battery compartment.

The input to the external supply is protected against polarity reversal. However, the polarity of the connection
has to be observed to ensure proper operation of the PM20 tester (see "Test set-up").
If it can be assumed that safe operation is not possible anymore, the device has to be switched off and
protected against unintentional use. This may be the case:
If visual defects are detected,

If the device does not function properly anymore,
Â
If the device has been stored for a longer period of time and under inappropriate conditions,
Â
If the device was submitted to stress during transport.
Â
Equipment and batteries should not be disposed of in the normal household waste.
