GENERAL OPERATIONAL PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! When using electric tools, basic safety
precautions should alw ays be follow ed to reduce the risk
of fire, electric shock and personal injury, including the
follow ing.
Read all these instructions before operating this product
and save these instructions.
For safe operations:
1.
Keep w ork area clean. Cluttered areas and benches
invite injuries.
2.
Consider w ork area environm ent. Do not expose
pow er tools to rain. Do not use pow er tools in dam p
or w et locations. Keep w ork area w ell lit.
Do not use pow er tools w here there is risk to cause
fire or explosion.
3.
Guard against electric shock. Avoid body contact
w ith earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes,
radiators, ranges, refrigerators).
4.
Keep children and infirm persons aw ay. Do not let
visitors touch the tool or extension cord. All visitors
should be kept aw ay from w ork area.
5.
Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should be
stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of reach
of children and infirm persons.
6.
Do not force the tool. It w ill do the job better and
safer at the rate for w hich it w as intended.
7.
Use the right tool. Do not force sm all tools or
attachm ents to do the job of a heavy duty tool. Do
not use tools for purposes not intended; for example,
do not use circular saw to cut tree lim bs or logs.
8.
Dress properly. Do not w ear loose clothing or
jew elry, they can be caught in m oving parts. Rubber
gloves and non-skid footw ear are recom m ended
w hen w orking outdoors. Wear protecting hair
covering to contain long hair.
9.
Use eye protection. Also use face or dust m ask if
the cutting operation is dusty.
10. Connect dust extraction equipm ent.

If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities ensure these are
connected and properly used.
11. Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the tool by the
cord or yank it to disconnect it from the receptacle.
Keep the cord aw ay from heat, oil and sharp edges.
12. Secure w ork. Use clam ps or a vise to hold the w ork.
It is safer than using your hand and it frees both
hands to operate tool.
13. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all tim es.
14. M aintain tools w ith care. Keep cutting tools sharp
and clean for better and safer perform ance. Follow
i n st r u ct i o n s f o r l u b r i cat i o n an d ch an g i n g
accessories. Inspect tool cords periodically and if
dam aged, have it repaired by authorized service
center. Inspect extension cords periodically and
replace, if dam aged. Keep handles dry, clean, and
free from oil and grease.
15. Disconnect tools. When not in use, before servicing,
and w hen changing accessories such as blades, bits
and cutters.
16. Rem ove adjusting keys and w renches. Form the
habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
w renches are rem oved from the tool before turning
it on.
17. Avoid unintentional starting. Do not carry a plugged-
in tool w ith a finger on the sw itch. Ensure sw itch is
off w hen plugging in.
18. Use outdoor extension leads. When tool is used
outdoors, use only extension cords intended for
outdoor use.
19. Stay alert. Watch w hat you are doing. Use com m on
sense. Do not operate tool w hen you are tired.
20. Check dam aged parts. Before further use of the tool,
a guard or other part that is dam aged should be
carefully checked to determ ine that it w ill operate
properly and perform its intended function. Check
for alignm ent of m oving parts, free running of
m oving parts, breakage of parts, m ounting and any
other conditions that m ay affect its operation. A
guard or other part that is dam aged should be
properly repaired or replaced by an authorized
service center unless otherw ise indicated in this
handling instructions. Have defective sw itches
replaced by an authorized service center. Do not use
the tool if the sw itch does not turn it on and off.
21. Warning
The use of any accessory or attachm ent, other than
those recom m ended in this handling instructions,
m ay present a risk of personal injury.
22. Have your tool repaired by a qualified person.
This electric tool is in accordance w ith the relevant
safety requirem ents. Repairs should only be carried
out by qualified persons using original spare parts.
Otherw ise this m ay result in considerable danger
to the user.
PRECAUTIONS ON USING COM POUND M ITER SAW
1.
Keep the floor area around the m achine level. Well
m aintained and free of loose m aterials e.g. chips
and cut-offs.
2.
Provide adequate general or localized lighting.
3.
Do not use pow er tools for applications other than
those specified in the handling instructions.
4.
Repairing m ust be done only by authorized service
facility. M anufacturer is not responsible for any
dam ages and injuries due to the repair by the
unauthorized persons as w ell as the m ishandling of
the tool.
5.
To ensure the designed operational integrity of
pow er tools, do not rem ove installed covers or
screw s.
6.
Do not touch m ovable parts or accessories unless
the pow er source has been disconnected.
7.
Use your tool at low er input than specified on the
nam eplate; otherw ise, the finish m ay be spoiled and
w orking efficiency reduced due to m otor overload.
8.
Do not w ipe plastic parts w ith solvent. Solvents such
as gasoline, thinner, benzine, carbon tetrachloride,
alcohol, m ay dam age and crack plastic parts. Do not
wipe them with such solvent. Clean plastic parts with
a soft cloth lightly dam pened w ith soapy w ater.
9.
Use only original HITACHI replacem ent parts.
10. Th i s t o o l sh o u l d o n l y b e d i sassem b l ed f o r
replacem ent of carbon brushes.
11. The exploded assem bly draw ing on this handling
instructions should be used only for authorized
service facility.
12. Never cut ferrous m etals or m asonry.
13. Adequate general or localized lighting is provided.
Stock and finished w orkpieces are located close to
the operators norm al w orking position.
14. Wear suitable personal protective equipm ent w hen
necessary, this could include:
Hearing protection to reduce the risk of induced
hearing loss.
Eye protection to reduce the risk of injuring an eye.
Resp i r at o r y p r o t ect i o n t o r ed u ce t h e r i sk o f
inhalation of harm ful dust.
