Tail Function
As the helicopter is equipped with two counter-rotating rotors, there is no torque around the yaw axis (rotor shaft). The
helicopter does not need a functional tail rotor for lateral stabilization. To allow the model to turn around the yaw axis
(rotor shaft), the two main rotors run at slightly different speeds (see figure 10).
The tail function is controlled with the left control area (see figure 5, item 6). If the control area is pushed slightly
towards the left with the right thumb, the tip of the fuselage turns towards the left. If you steer towards the right, the tip
of the fuselage turns likewise towards the right.
Nod Function
The nod function allows you to move your model helicopter forwards and backwards (see figure 11). For this, the
helicopter tail is equipped with an electric motor and a horizontal propeller. Depending on the rotational direction of the
tail propeller, the helicopter tail is deflected upwards or downwards. In hover flight, with the helicopter standing
horizontally, the tail propeller is not running.
The tail function is also controlled with the control area for turning and direction control (see figure 5, item 6). If you
push the control area slightly forward with the right thumb, the tail rises and the model flies forwards. If you push
control area towards the back, the tail drops and the model flies backwards.
