6.35 mm CCD Colour Camera, 420 TVL, 3.6mm, IR
Item-No: 75 17 12
Item-No: 75 17 11
Intended use
This camera set is for mounting in, and protecting, secluded or critical areas (e.g. entrance
areas, surveillance of underground car parks).
The camera is suitable for operation in outdoor areas (IP65). The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC
(suitable power transformer is available as an option).
The built-in IR LEDS enable a coverage of up to max. 10 metres.
The camera's integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision. Please note that coloured image
reproduction changes into black and white monochrome when increasing darkness activates the
IR-LEDs (only applicable to order no.: 751711). The brightness is detected by the camera using
a photo sensor on the front.
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with a camera without their
knowledge and consent.
Do not operate the product in any other way than that described above. This could lead to damage
to the product, which may give rise to hazards such as short circuit, fire and electric shock. The pro-
duct must not be modified or converted. Always observe the safety instructions included in these
operating instructions. Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
Contained in the package
• Camera
• Mounting bracket
• Installation material
• Operating Instructions
Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of
electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling,
operation and control.
The „Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

Safety instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume liability for consequential
damage!
We do not accept any liability for personal injury or damage to property caused
by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety instructions. The
warranty will be void in such cases.
• The camera must not be modified or converted, as not only will the CE appro-
val become void but also the warranty.
• The camera's integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision. Please note that the
coloured image reproduction changes into black and white monochrome
representation by the activation of the IR-LEDs caused by increasing darkness.
The brightness is detected by the camera using a photo sensor on the front.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight,
intense vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• If the device is used with other devices e.g. a monitor, the operating
instructions and safety notices for the connected devices must be followed.
• The use of the surveillance camera system does not replace the personal
supervision of children, or people who require special assistance, but only
serves as a support to this supervision.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the camera requires some time to stabilise,
in order to adjust to the surrounding temperature, before it can be used.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren!
• Please contact a qualified person, if you are unsure about the safety and
correct use of the system components.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic film/bags
etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a risk of suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, dis-
connect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.

Installation

• Find a suitable location for mounting the camera.
• There are 3 mounting holes in the mounting base. Hold the mounting base against the desired
mounting spot and mark the mounting holes.
• Drill the holes.
• Fasten the mounting base into place using appropriate installation material.
• Screw the camera onto the mounting base and fasten the locking screws.
• Adjust the camera to the desired position. To do this, loosen the locking screws and after
successfully adjusting the camera, tighten them again to secure the position.
Connection
Proceed as follows to make the correct connections:
• Connect the BNC connector of the camera to the video input of your display device (e.g.
monitor).
• Connect the low voltage plug of your power transformer (not included in the delivery) to the low
voltage connector on the camera.
• Plug the power transformer into an appropriate domestic mains socket (230 V/AC 50 Hz).
• Turn your display device on and set the appropriate channel to enable the display function.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Materials are to be observed.
• The camera is suitable for operation in outdoor areas (IP65).
• The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC (suitable power transformer is available
as an option).
• Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the
different devices and any extension cables conform to the regulations and com-
ply with the operating instructions.
• Live components may be exposed, if the covers are opened or parts removed
(unless this can be done without tools). Connection points may also be live.
If the appliance needs to be opened for calibration, servicing, repair or to
replace parts or circuit boards, it must be disconnected first from all sources
of current. If servicing or internal repairs are necessary, this must be carried
out by a specialist who is familiar with the risks involved and with the relevant
regulations.
• Capacitors in the device may still be charged, even if the device has been dis-
connected from all power supplies.
• When installing / mounting the appliance, make sure that the connection
cable is neither pinched nor damaged by sharp edges.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the unit is not in use
for a long period of time.
• Disconnect the camera from the power supply before cleaning.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the camera from the power supply during
thunderstorms.
• Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such an event, disconnect
the appliance from the mains and take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never pour fluids out above electrical devices. You run the risk of causing a
fire or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device, immediately dis-
connect it from the power supply, remove the plug from the mains and
consult an expert.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified
specialist or a specialist repair shop.
• For any unanswered questions please contact our customer service or other
specialists.
None of the connection cables must be bent nor squeezed. This can result in
malfunctions, short circuits and defects in the device.
Make sure that cables are not damaged when drilling or bolting into place.
Please note, you should choose a position for your camera that it is not
exposed to direct sunlight (this can cause glare). Further, the camera must be
protected from dust and vibration.
The camera's integrated infrared LEDs allow night vision. Please note that
coloured image reproduction changes into black and white monochrome when
increasing darkness activates the IR-LEDs (only applicable to order no.:
751711). The brightness is detected by the camera using a photo sensor on the
front.
Ensure that the plug and socket of the camera's connection cable are not
exposed to damp. Plugs and sockets may only be used indoors. The camera
cable must (for installation in outdoor areas or in damp rooms) be placed so it
is led into a dry room.
Do not point the camera directly towards a source of bright sunlight or towards
strong or indirect illumination as this may lead to overexposure and a fuzzy
picture.
To provide a suitable voltage supply, an optionally available power transformer
is required (recommended: 12 V/DC, 300 mA, plug polarity: inside=plus,
outside=minus). When acquiring this power transformer, check that the
polarity of the low-voltage plug of the power transformer corresponds to the
polarity marked on the low-voltage connector of the camera.
The wrong polarity can cause damage to the camera!
