8.5 mm CCD Colour Camera,
420 TVL, 25 mm

Intended Use
This colour camera set with metal housing is intended for the surveillance and pro-
tection of secluded or critical areas (e.g. entrance areas, surveillance of underground
car parks). The camera has an 8.5 mm (1/3") image sensor and a 25 mm camera lens.
The camera is suitable for operation in outdoor areas (IP65).
The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC (a suitable power transformer is available as an
option).
The built-in IR LEDs enable coverage of a max. of 100 metres.
The camera's integrated infrared LEDs enable night vision. Please note that coloured
image reproduction changes into black and white monochrome when increasing dark-
ness activates the IR-LEDs. The brightness is detected by the camera using a photo
sensor on the front.
Please bear in mind that it is prohibited by law to observe strangers with a camera
without their knowledge and consent.
Operating the product in any way other than the one described above is not permitted
and may lead to damage to the product, which can give rise to risks such as short
circuit, fire and electric shock. The product must not be modified or converted. Always
observe the safety instructions included in this operating manual. Read the operating
instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
Explanation of the symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger
of electric shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during hand-
ling, operation and control.
The „Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for
any consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for personal injury or damage to pro-
perty caused by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety
instructions. The warranty will be null and void in such cases.
• The camera must not be modified or converted, as not only the CE appro-
val will become void but also the guarantee/warranty.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sun-
light, intense vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Falls from a low height can damage the camera.
• If the device is used with other devices e.g. a monitor, the operating
instructions and safety notices for the connected devices must be
observed.
• The use of the surveillance camera system does not replace the personal
supervision of children, or people who require special assistance, but
only serves as a support to this supervision.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the camera requires some time to
stabilise, in order to adjust to the ambient temperature, before it can be
used.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren!
• Please contact a qualified person, if you are unsure about the safety and
correct use of the system components.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic
film/bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children; there is a risk of
suffocation.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible,
disconnect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent
operation.

Installation

• Find a suitable location for mounting the camera.
• Attach the supplied mounting plate to the
camera (see Figure to the right). Two suitable
black fastening screws are supplied.
• Now install the mounting bracket of the moun-
ting arm on the mounting plate (see Figure to
the right). A suitable fastening screw is sup-
plied.
• Attach the mounting arm to the mounting bracket on the mounting arm. Suitable
fastening screws are supplied (see Figures below).
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Materials are to be observed.
• The camera is suitable for operation in outdoor areas (IP65).
• The voltage is supplied via 12 V/DC (a suitable power supply unit is
available as an option).
• When installing / mounting the appliance, make sure that the connection
cable is neither pinched nor damaged by sharp edges.
• Disconnect the camera from the power supply, if the camera is not used
for longer periods of time.
• Disconnect the camera from the power supply before cleaning.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the camera from the power supply during
thunderstorms.
• Never pour fluids above electrical devices.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a
qualified specialist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please
contact our technical service or another specialist.
None of the connection cables must be bent or squeezed. This can result
in malfunctions, short circuits and defects in the device.
When drilling holes in the wall or screwing down on it, be careful not to
damage any cables or pipes.
Please note, you should position your camera away from direct sunlight
exposure (this can cause glare). Further, the camera must be protected
from dust and vibration.
The camera's integrated infrared LEDs enable night vision. Please note

is detected by the camera using a photo sensor on the front.
The camera is suitable for operation in outdoor areas (IP65).
Ensure that the plug and socket on the connection cable are not
exposed to dampness. Plugs and sockets may only be used indoors.
Therefore, the camera cable must (for installation in outdoor areas or
in damp rooms) be placed so it is set down into a dry room.
