14. Appendix: Fundamentals of the FS20 Address System

In order for several FS20 components (including the "FS20 ZPS" Circulating Pump Control)
to be operable next to one another, the radio transmission is secured using comprehensive
coding.
This coding consists of a "house code" and an "address". The house code serves to
differentiate between several FS20 systems operating within the same range. This means that
your neighbour can use the same radio system as you without the two systems interfering with
one another (house codes must be programmed differently).
The house code consists of 8 four-value digits (1, 2, 3, 4) so that a total of 4
(= 65536) different
8
house codes are possible. This makes it very unlikely that your neighbour will have used same
house code as you (under the assumption that the "simple" house codes are not used).
The second part of the coding is the so-called "address". Each address consists of a four-digit
number which is made up of the following 16 numbers. 11, 12, 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24, 31, 32,
33, 34, 41, 42, 43, 44
Example: Address 11 22
This makes a total of 256 different possible addresses (16*16=256). The addresses divide up
into 4 address types (available number in brackets):
• Individual addresses (225)
• Function group addresses (15)
• Local master addresses (15)
• Global master addresses (1)
Each address consists of two parts. Part 1 is the "address group" Part 2 is the "sub-address".
Example: Address 11 22 = address group "11" sub-address "22"
The number "44" has a special meaning. Note the table on the following page.
43
