The range of the radio signal depends on the respective time of day and season and may vary
accordingly.
After existing power supply for 10 minutes long, an automatic attempt is made to receive the
DCF radio signal and to set the time and date. After successful reception and automatic setting,
the symbol as well as 'OK' appears on the display.
If the DCF-Signal cannot be received during 10 minutes, the symbol appears on the display.
At intervals of 3 hours, subsequently an attempt is always automatically made to receive the
DCF-Radio signal.
Once the DCF-Radio signal has been received, the clock will search the DCF-Radio signal every
day between 2:00 and 3:00. If the reception is poor at this time, an attempt to correct the time
using DCF is automatically made for 4 hours long at every full hour. After these four hours, the
radio signal is searched again on the next day.
By receiving the radio signal, the time and the date is automatically set. Within the DCF-trans-
mission range, the time thus must not be set manually. The time is automatically changed from
winter time to summer time within 24 hours at the latest.
If the radio signal is not received, the time and date can be set manually.

d) Product settings

A fi xed sequence of the tuning steps is provided for the product settings.
1. Set duration of the sunrise function
The standard duration of the sunrise function is 90 Minutes before the set alarm time.
• Press and hold the 'SET/WAVE' Button until the display shows the blinking 90.
• Press the '+' and '-' Button to set the duration of the sunrise function on 90, 60, 45 or 30
Minutes.
• Press again the 'SET/WAVE' Button to confi rm the setting and continue with the setting of
the time zone.
2. Setting the time zone
Germany (UTC+1) is preset as Standard-Time zone. The Standard-Time zone can be adjusted
by one hour ahead or behind:
• Press the '+' Button several times to set the standard time one hour ahead (+1), or one hour
behind (-1).
• Press the 'SET/WAVE' Button to confi rm the setting and continue with the setting of the date.
