• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the
cable; always use the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched,
kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled
in them. This poses a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket
during storms.
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use
suitable protective gloves to handle damaged batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries
lying around, as there is a risk that children or pets may swallow them.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• In industrial facilities, the accident prevention regulations for electrical
equipment and facilities issued by the Industrial Employers' Liability
Association must be adhered to!
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of
the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively
by an expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating
instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical
personnel.

Preparation for mounting

Pay attention to the "Safety instructions" section.
Attention! The product must only be installed by a qualified electrician
who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE)! By carrying out
improper work on the mains voltage you endanger not only yourself, but
also others! If you do not know how to mount the product, get an expert to
do it for you; do not mount it yourself.
• Mount the product so that children cannot reach it.
• Only mount the product on a stable surface. Depending on the surface, suitable
screws and dowels must be used.
• The supply cable of the RGB outdoor spotlight must be protected with a 10/16A fuse
at the sub-distribution. An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before
this.
• The RGB outdoor spotlight may only be installed when it is disconnected from the
power supply. It is not sufficient just to turn off the switch on the mains socket!
The product is operated with a low 5 V/DC voltage. Never use a higher or
alternating voltage.

Mounting and connection

Pay attention to the information in the "Preparation for mounting" section.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are
damaged when drilling mounting holes or securing screws.
a) Securing the spotlight to a soft, secure surface using the ground spike
1. Insert the plastic ground spike into the standpipe.
2. Insert the pre-assembled product into a soft but secure surface (e.g. soil or clay
but not quicksand or dry sand).
b) Securing the light to a hard surface using the mounting plate
1. Use the mounting plate as a template to mark the four fixing points on the surface.
2. Drill the holes for the dowels into the mounting surface. (If you are using a wooden
surface, you can directly screw the base to the surface. However, you should still
drill holes even when using wood, although the dowels are not required in this
case.) Insert the dowels into the drilled holes. Secure the mounting plate to the
surface using the screws provided.
Always ensure that water is able to drain through the bottom of the
standpipe. Water must not be allowed to accumulate inside the standpipe
for long periods. There should be sufficient ventilation to ensure that water
or condensation that enters the standpipe can dry out.
It is recommended to install a switch to turn the power socket that the
RGB outdoor spotlight is connected to on/off. If the power socket is
located far from the mounting location, use an extension cable. These
components are not included with the product.

Operation

To use the RGB outdoor spotlight, plug the power adapter into a suitable mains
socket. If necessary, turn on the power supply, e.g. by turning on a switch. (These
component(s) are not included with the product.)
Do not cover the infra-red sensor on the top of the product with an opaque
object.
