12. S ynchronization of the hour strike
If the hour strike and the hour hand do not correspond you will need to make this adjustment.
Example; The dock showes 4 and the strike is 3 follow this instructions for correcting.
1. Do not silence the chimes while making these adjustments.
2. M ove the hour hand (shortest) clockwise or counterclockwise, whichever is more convenient,
slowly to the hour that is actually struck.
Example: If the dock stricks only 3 times, move the hour hand slowly until it points directly to
the 3. You will notice that the hour hand turnes independently of the minute hand.
3. Then turn the minute hand (longest) clockwise or counter clockwise, whichever is more
convenient, slowly until the proper time setting is reached. Be careful, do not cath the hour hand
and misadjust again.
4. The chime and strike will now adjust themselves automatically.
This takes approximately 1 -2 hours.
Your clock was synchronized for the correct strike prior to being packed for shipment. You will
not need to make this adjustment unless the hour hand is accidentally moved while setting the
time.
13. Hammer adjustments
Adjustment on hammers of the tubular movement
Each hammer should be located 2-3 mm in front of the tube. This
distance can be adjusted by an adjusting screw.
Adjusting hammers on gong rods
Each hammer should be 2 mm in front of the rod. M ake sure that
the hammer hits the middle section of the rod. If not, you should carefully bend the wire until
you reach exact position.
