4. Hanging the weights
Consonni clocks use up to three weights
and the total weight of each weight can be
slightly different. Whenever the weights
are different the bottom of each weight is
labeled as to its proper hanging position.
Each weight must be installed in its
correct location for the clock to operate
properly. Check the weights to ensure that they are tightly
assembled.
Hang the weights on the cable pulley(s) or hooks and
loops at the chain ends as indicated on the bottom of
each weight (left, center, right) (pictures 5 to 7 - see page 24).
Should the indicators be missing, the correct weights and weight positions can be taken from the
weight chart on page 47.
Do not remove the styrofoam blocks until your clock has been operating for at least twelve (12)
hours. Doing so before this time could cause the cables to overlap and jam the movement.
5. Setting the clock
Please check the information on the inner side of the front door.
If ,,Ankerautomatik" autobeat:
M ove the pendulum to the left or right side of the cabinet and
release.
After a few minutes the swinging motion settles down to 70-80
mm.
You will hear the tick-tack sound.
We recommend to follow this procedure whenever you wind the
clock.
If ,,ohne Ankerautomatik" without auto beat:
Start the pendulum until you hear the tick-tack sound. If the setting
is correct the tick-tack sound will be steady. If not move the pendulum leader to the point you
feel the resistance
push the leader
carefully byond this
point check the tick-
tack sound again. If
better do it again
until the tick-tack
sound is steady. If
worse than before
you moved the leader
in the wrong
direction move it in
the other direction
until the tick-tack
sound is steady.
