Before connection, disconnect the mixer and all other devices which are to be connected
to the mixer from the mains voltage (pull mains plug out of the socket).
For connecting the cinch inputs and outputs, use only shielded cinch cables suitable for
this purpose. The use of wrong cables may cause interference.
The audio inputs/outputs of the mixer should never be connected directly to a mains
supply.
To avoid distortion or mismatching that may damage the appliance, only playback appli-
ances with a cinch output may be connected to the cinch inputs of the mixer. When
carrying this out, pay attention to the connection values listed in the "Technical Data"
section.
a) Connecting the inputs
The following applies for all cinch inputs:
The white cinch jack of the mixer represents the input for the left channel.
The red cinch jack of the mixer represents the input for the right channel.
CH1-PHONO1 and CH2-PHONO2 input (36)
Two stereo PHONO inputs are available. You can connect your record player to these stereo cinch inputs.
The PHONO inputs have been designed for record players with a magnet system.
These inputs are only suitable for record players. No devices such as tuners, CD players or
similar may be connected here.
CH1-CD1 and CH2-CD2 input (37)
Two CD inputs are available. You can connect your CD player to these stereo cinch inputs.
These CD inputs are not suitable for record players.
CH3-LINE1 and CH4-LINE2 input (38)
Two stereo LINE inputs are available. You can connect your tuner, your CD player, your MP3 player etc. to
these stereo cinch inputs.
The LINE inputs are not suitable for record players.
CH3-TAPE1 and CH4-TAPE2 input (39)
Two stereo TAPE inputs are available. You can connect the cinch outputs of your cassette deck to these
stereo cinch inputs.
The TAPE inputs are not suitable for record players.
AUX input (40)
An additional stereo input is available for connecting further LINE level devices.
The AUX input is not suitable for record players.
MIC1 and MIC2 microphone inputs (2)
Two microphone inputs MIC1 and MIC2 are available. You can connect the dynamic microphones to these
inputs.
This represents a combination input which is suitable for microphones with XLR or 6.3 mm jack
bushings.

(36) PHONO 1 and PHONO 2 input
Record players with a magnetic sound pick-up system can be connected to these two asymmetrical stereo
cinch inputs. The phono inputs have an integrated equaliser pre-amplifier. Only connect these inputs to
record players, and not to high-level sources such as tuners, CD players or similar.
PHONO1 present at fader channel 1 (CH-1)
PHONO2 present at fader channel 2 (CH-2)
(37) CD 1 and CD 2 input
You can connect your CD players to these two asymmetrical stereo cinch inputs.
CD1 present at fader channel 1 (CH-1)
CD2 present at fader channel 2 (CH-2)
(38) LINE 1 and LINE 2 input
You can connect devices with line level (such as tuners, CD players, video recorders, MP3 players etc.) to
these two asymmetrical stereo cinch inputs.
LINE1 present at fader channel 3 (CH-3)
LINE2 present at fader channel 4 (CH-4)
(39) TAPE 1 and TAPE 2 input
You can connect your cassette decks to these two asymmetrical stereo cinch inputs.
TAPE1 present at fader channel 3 (CH-3)
TAPE2 present at fader channel 4 (CH-4)
(40) AUX input
You can connect an additional stereo device with line level to this asymmetrical stereo cinch input.
(41) RETURN input
You can connect the cinch output (line level) of an effects unit to this asymmetrical mono cinch input.
(42) SEND output
You can connect the cinch input (line level) of an effects unit to this asymmetrical mono cinch output.
(43) REC output
The mixed audio output signal of the mixer (in the same way as the MASTER signal) is present at this asym-
metrical stereo cinch output. However, the REC signal is not affected by the „MASTER" control. You can
connect recording devices (such as cassette decks, tape recorders or CD recorders) to these jacks and
record the mixer signal.
The output level of the REC jacks is affected by the individual channel FADERS and the "GAIN"
control.
(44) AMP output
The MASTER output signal is present at this asymmetrical stereo cinch output. This signal represents the
mixed audio output signal of the mixer. Connect these jacks to your amplifier.
(45) BOOTH output
A second amplifier or an active monitor system can be connected to this asymmetrical stereo cinch output.
(46) BALANCED output
The MASTER output signal is present in symmetrical form at this symmetrical XLR output. This signal is the
mixed audio output signal of the mixer.
