d) Connection to the power supply
The mixer and all connected appliances have to be switched off. Make sure all of the
electrical connections and connection cables between the appliance and any extension
cables conform to the regulations and comply with the operating instructions.
Make sure the voltage specifications on the nameplate (back of the appliance) corre-
spond to the available power supply voltage before establishing the connection. Do not
connect the appliance if the data on the nameplate does not correspond to the mains
voltage available. Serious damage can be caused by incorrect supply voltages. Contact
a specialist.
The mixer may only be connected to mains sockets with earthing contact. If an earth
connection is absent, this can lead to a fatal electric shock.
Ensure that the mains plug is firmly and securely in the socket.
Connect the appliance connection plug of the supplied mains cable to the „AC INPUT" (48) mains connec-
tion of the mixer. Insert the mains plug of the mixer into a (230 V~/50 Hz) mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
11. Putting the appliance into service
Before starting the appliance for the first time, check that it is in perfect condition. Do put
the appliance into operation if the unit or connecting cables show signs of damage.
Contact a specialist.
Only put the appliance into operation when you have become familiar with its features
and these operating instructions. Check whether all connections have been established
properly.
Do not listen to music at an excessive volume since it can damage your hearing.
Make sure the connected appliances are not overloaded. Playback may not be distorted
under any circumstances. If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume
on the amplifier has not been set too high, switch off the mixer immediately and check
the connection. Please contact a specialist if no error is present at the connection.
The amplifier of the system should always be switched on last and switched off first. In
this way, you can prevent any undesired noises (which can typically occur when swit-
ching off the mixer) from damaging the amplifier or loudspeakers.
a) Switching the mixer on and off
Failure to observe the sequence described below when switching the mixer on and off could damage the
loudspeakers or the amplifier.
Switching on:
• Make sure that all faders are set to the minimum volume (faders moved right down).
• Switch on the playback devices connected to the mixer first.
• Switch on the mixer, the power indicator lights up.
• Switch on the amplifier connected and the recording device (connected to the REC jacks). This appliance
is now ready for operation.
Switching off:
• To switch off the mixer, first of all turn the volume of the amplifier down to minimum.
• Switch off the amplifier.
• Now switch off the playback devices (record player, CD player, etc).
• If you do not require the mixer for a longer period, pull out the plug-in power unit from the socket.

(20) LEVEL control
You can use this control to set the volume of the headphones.
The "MIN" position denotes minimum volume, the "MAX" position denotes maximum volume.
Control in position „0" = minimum headphone level
Control in position "10" = maximum headphone level
Turn the control to the „0" position before plugging in or unplugging the headphones or
before switching the mixer on or off! Otherwise there is risk of damage to your hearing as
a result of excessive volume at the headphone output.
(21) Headphone jack (PHONES)
You can connect your headphones to this stereo jack socket output. The signal which has been selected via
the CUE keys is present here. The headphones should have an impedance of 32 Ohm as otherwise mis-
matches can occur.
(22) BOOTH fader
You can use this slide control to set the level at the BOOTH output (45).
Slide control in position „0" = minimum level
Slide control in position "10" = maximum level
(23) MASTER fader
You can use this slide control to set the level at the BALANCED output (46) and at the AMP output (44).
Slide control in position „0" = minimum level
Slide control in position "10" = maximum level
(24) STEREO/MONO switch
You can use this control to select between stereo or mono playback at the outputs BOOTH (45), BALAN-
CED (46) and AMP (44).
Switch pressed (LED beside the switch lights up) = mono playback
Switch not pressed = stereo playback
(25) Channel fader
The channel faders are for adjusting the level of each separate channel. Channels that are not in use
should be turned right down (position „0"). This reduces the possibility of interference.
Position „0" = minimum channel level
Position „10" = maximum channel level
(26) CROSSFADER
With this slider, you cross-fade between the two channels that were selected with the switches ASSIGN
(27).
The one channel is faded out on moving the slide control (becomes quieter), while at the same time the
other channel is faded in (becomes louder). In the central position of the CROSSFADER slide control, both
channels are reproduced equally.
(27) ASSIGN
You can use these two rotary switches to assign the channels to the CROSS-FADER (26). Using the left
switch, select the channel which is to be played when the CROSSFADER is in the left position. Using the
right switch, select the channel which is to be played when the CROSSFADER is in the right position.
Reduce the volume to a minimum before pressing the ASSIGN switch.
