The power cable should never be plugged in or unplugged with wet hands. There is risk of a
hazardous electric shock!
• The appliance is manufactured according to protection class 1. Only an approved mains socket (230
V~/50 Hz) connected to the public supply grid may be used as a source of power. The voltage and fre-
quency indication on the appliance nameplate must correspond to the voltage and frequency of the
socket with earthing contact to which the appliance is connected. An incorrect voltage can destroy the
appliance or lead to hazardous electric shocks.
• You must ensure that there is no break in the earth conductor (yellow/green) either in the mains cable or
in any connected extension cable. An interruption in (or the absence of) an earth conductor could result
in fatal injury. Operation of the appliance without an earth connection is not permitted!
• The mains cable must not come into contact with other cables.
• If extension cables are used, be certain that they have the sufficient electrical load capacity. When using
an extension cable, also observe the safety instructions applicable for the mains cable as well as the
instructions of the extension cable manufacturer.
• Make sure the mains cable is neither squeezed nor bent by sharp edges and prevent it from being sub-
jected to other mechanical stress. Avoid excess thermal stress on the mains cable resulting from extre-
mes of heat or cold. Failure to observe this may cause damage to the mains cable. A damaged mains
cable could result in a hazardous electric shock. A defective connecting cable may only be replaced by a
specialist. Danger of electrocution!
Electrical appliances must be kept out of the reach of children. Be particularly careful if child-
ren are present. Children are not aware of the hazards involved in handling electrical applian-
ces improperly. Children could attempt to poke objects into the appliance. There is a danger of
electrocution.
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket:
- before cleaning it
- during thunderstorms
- if you will not be using the appliance for a longer period (>1 week)
Never operate the appliance without supervision.
• Never place the appliance on an unstable or movable surface. Persons could be injured or the appliance
damaged by it falling down.
• When using racks, make sure these are in a stable position. If the rack is set up on an uneven, inclined
surface, it could tip over and injury people. If the rack is moved and then stopped abruptly, this can also
cause the rack to tip over and injure people.
• Never connect the appliance directly after transferring it from a cold to a warm room. The condensation
water that forms could destroy the appliance or result in an electric shock. Allow the device to reach room
temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation has completely evaporated. This can take
several hours.
• Do not place open sources of fire such as burning candles on the device or in its vicinity.
• Do not place the appliance on soft surfaces such as carpets or beds. Do not cover the openings on the
appliance. Do not obstruct the air circulation with objects such as magazines, table cloths or curtains. This
prevents the dissipation of heat from the appliance and can result in overheating.
• Only use the appliance in a temperate climate, and avoid a tropical environment.
• Do not use the appliance at extreme altitudes.
