(11) AUX tone control HIGH / LOW
You can change the tone of the AUX input using the tone controls.
• HIGH = High tone control
• LOW = Low tone control
• Control button turned fully to the left means maximum reduction
• Control button turned fully to the right means maximum increase
• The central position (felt by a light clicking into place) means that the signal remains unaltered (neutral set-
ting).
(12) RETURN control
You can use this control to set the input level of the RETURN jack (41).
(13) LIGHT 12V BNC connection
A swan-neck lamp for illuminating the mixer can be connected at this jack.
Do not fail to observe the technical connection data for 12 V alternating current and a
maximum connection load of 3 W. An incorrectly selected lamp can cause damage to the
mixer and/or the lamp.
(14) POWER - ON/OFF switch
The mixer is switched on or off using this switch.
The mixer is switched on in the "I" position, the power indicator LED on the right beside the switch lights up.
The mixer is switched off in the "0" position.
To completely disconnect the mixer from the mains, the mains plug has to be pulled out
of the socket.
(15) ECHO switch
You can use this switch to switch the echo effect on or off.
ECHO switch pressed, red LED lights up = Echo effect is switched on
ECHO switch not pressed = Echo effect is switched off
(16) ECHO VOLUME control
You can use this control to set the volume of the echo effect.
Control in position „0" = minimum echo level
Control in position "10" = maximum echo level
(17) ECHO REPEAT control
This control determines the number of echo repeats.
Control in position „0" = minimum echo repeats
Control in position "10" = maximum echo repeats
(18) ECHO TIME control
You can use this control to set the repeat speed ("delay time") of the echo.
Control in position „0" = minimum repeat speed
Control in position "10" = maximum repeat speed
(19) SEND control
You can use this control to set the output level at the SEND output (42).
Control in position „0" = minimum SEND level
Control in position "10" = maximum SEND level

b) Selecting an input
Use the input selection switches to select the required inputs.
Minimise the volume using the corresponding channel fader before an input selection
switch is changed over. Due to the different volumes of the input sources, sudden and
excessive volume could otherwise result.
c) Setting the fader channel signal
Use the corresponding input level controls to match the „GAIN" mixer input to the output signal of the play-
back device connected.
The description refers to fader channel CH1:
• Move the MASTER fader, BOOTH fader and channel fader down completely (minimum).
• Turn the GAIN control completely to the left (position 0)
• Start the playback on your playback device connected, e.g. CD player
• Move the channel fader to position 10, the MASTER and BOOTH fader remains at position „0".
• Slowly turn the GAIN control clockwise until the channel level display reaches the value „0" dB. Ensure
that the channel level display does not reach the red zone, if necessary reduce the level using the GAIN
control.
• You can use the sound controls to alter the tone of the channel signal. If the tone controls are turned up
far, it may be necessary to reduce the input level with the GAIN control.
Although significantly increasing the basses and the trebles may always subjectively
appear to be too little, this can subject your amplifier or loudspeakers to their stress
limits or even beyond. Never therefore use the sound control on the amplifier and mixer
at the same time. Set the tone control on the amplifier in the neutral position wherever
possible.
• Repeat the setting for the other channels.
• All channels should be set to about the same volume so that, when cross-fading between the channels,
no great differences in volumes arise which would otherwise result in a regulation of the output signal.
d) Setting the MASTER output level
• Set a quiet volume on the amplifier connected.
• Slowly move the MASTER fader upwards until the recording level display reaches the value „0" dB at loud
music passages.
• Turn the volume control of the amplifier connected to a suitable volume.
Make sure that the loudspeakers connected and the amplifier are not overloaded. There
should be no distortion during playback, this could otherwise damage the amplifier and
loudspeakers.
If the music signal is distorted in spite of the fact that the volume on the amplifier is not
at a high setting, and all the settings on the mixer are correct, then switch off the mixer
immediately and check all connections. Please contact a specialist if no error is present
at the connection.
e) Listening-in, pre-listening
Turn the LEVEL control completely to the left „0" limit before plugging in, unplugging or
putting on the headphones or switching the mixer on or off! Otherwise there is the risk of
an excessive volume at the headphones output.
• You can use the CUE switches to select the corresponding fader channel which is to be listened to in
advance. You can listen to the input signal via the headphones without it being played back on the ampli-
fier connected. This enables you to find the correct starting point, for example when cross-fading/mixing.
• You can use the CUE-MASTER switch to select whether the relevant fader signal or the MASTER signal
(mixer output signal) is heard. If the CUE MASTER switch is pressed, you will hear the MASTER signal in the
headphones. If the switch is not pressed, you will hear the individual fader channel signals.
