CLEANING AND SERVICE

1. Unplug the unit before cleaning it.
2. Clean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Never use solvent or detergent.
3. All tape recording equipment requires periodic cleaning. A typical cleaning
schedule is once every 3 months. Use tape head cleaner or denatured alcohol on
a cotton swab to wipe the 2 tape heads, tape guides, capstan and pressure roller.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Before requesting service, please refer to the following chart and check for the
problem you meet.

TELEPHONE

PROBLEM
CHECK
The telephone does not ring.
The ringer switch is in the OFF position.
The telephone line cord is disconnected at the telephone outlet or
at the unit.
The phone is off hook. Make certain the hook switch is depressed
when the handset is in its cradle.
No dial tone.
The telephone line plug is not connected to the telephone line.
Test the telephone in a different wall jack. If it works, the first
telephone jack may be defective.
You have a dial tone, but cannot dial out.
Check if your Tone/Pulse selector switch is at the correct position.
The REDIAL button does not function.
The telephone may have been momentarily disconnected from the
telephone jack. The last number in memory is then lost.
