In addition to classic 6 device functions, the ultra-
sound WZ pulse 6 is also equipped with a pulse
function and a fixed cable to facilitate connection to
the Techem RF system.

tery is built into the meter and cannot be replaced.
Installation
Installation instructions
•
Select a dry, easily accessible location (meter rea-
ding and replacement!) for the heat meter or meter
replacement element. The surrounding temperature
may not exceed 55 °C.
!
When selecting the installation location, pay atten-
tion to the length of the fixed sensor cable.
•
Do not weld, solder or drill near the meter.
•
Do not remove the meter from its original packaging
until all connection, insulation and flushing tasks have
been completed.
•
Always install the design variant of the meter as de-
picted on the housing.
•
To avoid damages occurring to the meter, protect the
meter from any impacts or vibration that may occur
at the place of installation. When commissioning the
meter, open all shut-off devices slowly.
•
Do not subject the volumetric flowmeter to stress
loads when installing the meter. In addition, ensure
the pipework leading to and away from the volumet-
ric flow meter is properly secured and adequately
supported.
•
Air bubbles and air collecting in the meter cause
malfunctioning. Therefore, never install the meter at
points where air bubbles can form:
8
However, if installation is only possible at a single
high point, a bleed option must be provided.
When possible, avoid installing at a low point as this
is where dirt collects that can damage the meter.
•
Use only the flat rubber EPDM gasket supplied!
•
When installing, do not exceed the maximum tight-
ening torque range of 10–25 Nm (for ¾" meter thread)
or 20–50 Nm (1" meter thread); otherwise, the me-
ter might be damaged! Where pipes are aligned, it
suffices on site for the union nut to be turned 120° ...
180° (¾") or 90° ... 120° (1") once the seal comes into
contact with the union nut.
Tightening angle for 3/4"
•
Ensure there is sufficient clearance (min. 50 cm)
between the calculator and possible sources of elec-
tromagnetic interferences (switches, electric motors,
frequency converters, fluorescent lamps, etc.).
•
We recommend that you do not install the meter on
the suction side of a pump. On the pressure side,
maintain a minimum clearance of 10 x DN to the
pump.
•
If several meters are installed in a unit, ensure the
same installation conditions apply to all meters. If the
meter is to be installed in the shared return of two cir-
cuits, the place of installation must be at a sufficient
distance to the T-piece, meaning at least 10 x DN, to
allow the different water temperatures to mix suffi-
ciently.
•
The heat meter can be installed both in horizontal and
vertical conduits.
!
If possible, use the same installation method
within one property! The display must be acces-
sible at all times and readable without further
aids.
•
We recommend that you install a dirt catcher
upstream of the volumetric flowmeter.
•
Install shut-off devices upstream of the heat meter (or
dirt catcher) and downstream of the heat meter.
•
Rinse the conduit thoroughly before installing the
meter – still use the meter replacement element for
this purpose.
