d) Fade in/out

Fade in
You can slowly fade in playback of a rhythm accompaniment.
Push the „FADE IN/OUT" button (26). A small symbol next to „FADE" at the left of the display appears.
Now start playback of the rhythm accompaniment (Chapter 11. a). The volume increases slowly over about 8 seconds as the
rhythm accompaniment is faded in.
This function can be combined with the sync start (Chapter 11. b) and intro (Chapter 11. c) functions. Follow the instruc-
tions provided in these chapters after pushing the „FADE IN/OUT" button.
Fade out
You can slowly fade out playback of an accompanying rhythm.
During rhythm accompaniment playback, push the „FADE IN/OUT" button (26). A small symbol next to „FADE" at the left of the
display appears. The volume decreases slowly over about 8 seconds as the rhythm accompaniment is faded out.

e) Intermezzo (play fill beat/change variations)

You can play a fill beat or toggle between two variations of a rhythm accompaniment during playback.
As a rule, variation „A" is simpler (e.g. less drumming) and variation „B" is more complex (e.g. more and more diverse
drumming).
• Start playback of a rhythm accompaniment, see Chapter 11. a).
• Push the „FILL-IN A" (27) or „FILL-IN B" (28) buttons to play a fill or toggle between both variations of the rhythm accompani-
ment.
The display shows „NOR" in variation „A" is selected and „VAR" in variation „B".
You can push and hold one of the buttons to extend the fill beat.

f) Setting the tempo for rhythm accompaniment

Each rhythm accompaniment has an automatic default tempo setting. This setting can be changed as desired.
• First select a rhythm accompaniment as described in Chapter 11. a).
• Use the „TEMPO+"/„TEMPO-" buttons (4) to set the desired tempo. Push and hold to fast-forward.
To reset the tempo to the default setting, push and hold the „TEMPO+" and TEMPO-" buttons (4) at the same time.
• Now start playback of the rhythm accompaniment.
You can change the tempo of a rhythm accompaniment during playback using the „TEMPO+" and „TEMPO-" buttons (4).
You can also reset the tempo to the default setting by pushing both buttons at the same time.

g) Setting the volume for rhythm accompaniment

You can separately set the volume for a rhythm accompaniment using the „ACCOM VOL+" Push and hold to fast-forward.
To reset the volume to the default setting, push and hold the „ACCOM VOL+" and „ACCOM VOL-" buttons (5) at the same
time.
